What are the principles of a good Survey?
- Provide value to the participant (can be either a gift or the opportunity to help shape the product)
- Should be brief (should not take more than three minutes to fill out)
- Include only questions designed to generate information relevant to the insights you want
- Include a few open-ended questions (as a “why” for a previous closed-ended question)
- Make some questions optional
- Be careful with biased or leading questions
- Maintain a reasonable survey frequency (not too many surveys and not too often)
- Think how to promote (language and style) the survey to participants
- Think what is the correct segment of participants for the survey
- Think when to send and for how long to allow to respond
